Breakfast at Tiffany's
This 1960’s classic is a 115 minutes long fashion feast with the message that “having great style is something that applies whatever the time of the day, being asleep is no reason not to be beautiful!”The fact the book’s main character is supposed to be a call girl is very much blurred out in this movie version, though vague hints are presented. Adding that knowledge to the glamorous life lived by Holly Golighlty, you might draw the conclusion that the importance of this lifestyle even makes it “worth it”. As if to say, “great style has no limits”. Well, the factor of great style is undoubtedly presented in this movie. At every moment Audrey Hepburn is extremely well dressed in all her beautiful cocktail dresses, hats and jewellery, not forgetting the classic “LBD-look”.
What we also love are all the fun imaginative items accessing the outfits, such as eyelashed sleeping masks, funny fringed earplugs and ironically long cigarette holders. This is something that also defines Audrey’s character by the concept of adding something ironic to something very beautiful and by doing so making it into something absolutely unique and outstanding. Also having Hubert de Givenchy to dress you both privately and on screen must definitely help some, don’t you think?
